Robert “Rob” Phinisee is a dynamic 6-foot-1 point guard for the Logansport Iron Horses, renowned for his exceptional leadership, defensive prowess, and clutch performances. Born on October 13, 1999, in Lafayette, Indiana, Rob has been a standout player since his high school days at McCutcheon High School.
At McCutcheon High School, Rob quickly established himself as a formidable force on the court. As a sophomore, he averaged 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game, leading the Mavericks to a 28–4 record and an undefeated 8–0 conference record. The team advanced to the Class 4A state championship game, where they narrowly lost 59–62 to New Albany. In his junior year, Rob’s performance remained stellar, averaging 21.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game, contributing to a 23–3 overall record. His senior year was marked by a record-breaking 50-point game, setting a new all-time scoring record at McCutcheon. He concluded his high school career with averages of 29.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game.
Rob continued his basketball journey at the University of Indiana, where he played from 2018 to 2022. During his freshman year, he averaged 6.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. His sophomore year saw him averaging 7.3 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game. In his junior year, he averaged 7.1 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game. A highlight of his college career was on January 20, 2022, when he scored a career-high 20 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 16.5 seconds left, leading Indiana to a 68-65 victory over Purdue.
In April 2022, Rob transferred to the University of Cincinnati to continue his collegiate career. During the 2022-2023 season, he played in 12 games, facing challenges with injuries that limited his playing time.
After completing his collegiate eligibility, Rob Phinisee joined the Logansport Iron Horses, bringing his leadership, defensive skills, and clutch performance to the professional level. Rob is the son of Tanika Phinisee and has three brothers: Alantae, Charles, and Joe. His brothers also played basketball at McCutcheon High School, and Rob’s potential was recognized early on when he played alongside Charles in the AAU circuit.
